Product Notes
Intensive Black is a concentrated dye made especially for high gloss polyester ebony finishes, which matches most non-Asian pianos. For Asian pianos, the color can be adjusted by adding Asian Black pigment. We also carry Black w/Brown Hue, Black w/Green Hue, and Black w/Blue Hue pigments for pianos & furniture that require these respective tints. All black Pigments must be mixed with Intensive Black Dye when being added to polyester lacquer. For polyester wood and paint finishes we recommend the Paint Box. For traditional wood finishes, we also recommend having on hand Medium Walnut and Light Mahogany dyes, correcting color differences with the Paint Box.
White Finish Note
White polyester was formerly available, but due to haz-mat regulations and numerous shades it has become unaffordable to obtain. Konig polyester cannot be made white, but we do suggest using Rex Lith White to fill any damage. Once the surface is level and smooth, top-coat with acrylic paint from an auto-body paint supplier. Take a case part (e.g. cheek block) for color matching. For best results, use an air-brush to apply. In less critical situations you will still get good results by brushing it on. If there is significant damage, we recommend the services of Cavalieri Finishing Co. on Long Island (www.cavalierifinishing.com). Their work is without equal and your piano will be new again.
